Yellow and White

I have always loved yellow and white.  My wedding was yellow and white with white daisies.  Yellow is such a cheery color.  I love collecting all things yellow and white.
 Hope this brightens your day!

The Handmade Dress

My sister finished my daughters dress. It turned out so nice.  She is a such perfectionist when it comes to sewing.  Her stiches are so even and straight.  It looks so good!  I just ordered a pattern from Near Sea Naturals for a one-piece sundress.  My sister saw this pattern at Soule mamas blog, it was adorable! We are now working on the owl fabric top and shorts. I can't wait to show the finshed product.  Out of the extra material I want to make a little draw string bag.  I am so excited about making the one-piece sundress.  Heather Ross has some beautiful mermaid fabric that I want to use for the dress.

Planning a Mermaid Party

Yesterday I went to my local Economy Store with my list in hand looking for interesting things for my daughters mermaid birthday party.  While there I happened to find two glass seahorse containers that once held Avon's Skin so Soft.  I had to have them.  Oh the possibilities I could do with these.  I thought about filling them with lite blue M&M's, or blue water.  I also found a little white shell shaped candy plate.  Lastly, I found to white round tablecloths. I want to have a posh mermaid party not a cheesy Little Mermaid party. You no, the classy version of a mermaid party.  I have my little notebook started with all my ideas and drawings.  I could be a party planner, really!  I have three more weeks to get it together.  It was fun finding those few things at the thrift store, it made my day:)

Cute Avon bottles!

My finds from the Economy Store.

Check out this posh mermaid party!

Sophia Gardening

Gardening and Sewing Oh My!

I went to the fabric store and bought some fabric to make Sophia some summer dresses. I tried to pick out some material I thought she might like.  I found some really cute owl material at my local Joann fabrics.  I bought a simple pattern.  It was a sew easy.  HA HA :)  My sister who is an expert seamtress said it wasn't easy for her.  I watched as she sewed and hopefully I can replicate it on the next dress.  I planted some seeds with Sophia.  I planted Foxgloves, Cosmos, Money Plant, Cherry Tomatoes and last but not least Cilantro.  Sophia loves gardening! At preschool this week their theme was "All about Gardening."  She said she planted some seeds at school.  She is not afraid to get her hands dirty, pick up worms or touch any crawly things.

Easter

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  I had a great time with my family. What a beautiful day to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord.  The children had a great time at their Nana and Pop Pops.  They had an Easter egg hunt and Conner found ten dollars in one of his eggs.  Lucky little boy!  Thanks to Aunty Charity. My husband bought me a hydrangea bush.  I can't wait to see it bloom.  Depending on our soil it will either be blue or pink depending on the acidity of the soil.  I need to do some research to see if you can make the soil more acidic.

Catching Up!!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a  while.  We were in the process of getting a new computer.  Our other one is so ancient and slow.  We needed a new computer for a long time.  We've been outside alot now that the temperature has been warm.  I love gardening and get excited just raking and cleaning up the yard.  Little things like this make me happy.  I was at my sisters house and have pictures of the chairs I painted months ago. Also have pics of her IKEA curtains she made. (so professional!)
