Blogging for Bliss

I bought the best book ever written by Tara Frey called Blogging for Bliss.  I bought it before the ever came out and couldn't wait to get it in the mail.  It finally arrived and I love it.  I started blogging and loved it. Well I'm finding some awesome blogs and want my blog to look like theirs.  Someday it will.  I still have alot to figure out.  I have a handful  of followers but thats okay.  Thank you Tara for your awesome book, what an inspiration.  Check out the vintage bag.  I bought it this summer at a cute little shop called Vintage Joann.  I fell completly in Love with this shop.

Yummy Peanutbutter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yesterday I went to my mom's house and made wonderfully delicious PB and chocolate chip cookies.  It was one of those cold dreary days, it looked liked it was going to snow.  My daughter was supposed to help make cookies but decided Polly Pockets were more fun.  As we were making cookies it started to snow.  We couldn't stay too long because I hate driving in snow.  My son went out to the garage with his grandpa to work on man things.  What a fun time baking and looking at my mom's new quilt she is making.  My dad sharpened the diamond wheel on my circle glass cutter. Now I can make my soldered art charms and key chains.

Handmade Make-up Bag

This is the inside of the bag.

Denim material on the outside.

My sister made the cutest make-up bag for my birthday and I absolutely love it:)  She used such neat fabric from Reprodepot.  They have the neatest vintage reproduction material.  My sister is very good at sewing and is very detailed at her work, she could go into business.  She can knit beautiful sweaters!  She made a hot pink baby sweater for my daughter when she was born,  just adorable!

Glittered yarn cones.

Linen cabbage rose valances handmade by my sister:)

Love the Pineapple Finial!!

Painted her pink and blue light switch purple and white.

My daughter loves the color purple.  So I went with purple and painted her room two shades of purple with dark purple on the bottom and the lighter purple on top.  I bought a paintable chair rail and painted the trim and chair rail white.  We went with white shelves to match everything.  I found the bed at my local economy store for 14$:)  When I saw it, it was painted an ugly yellow with hand painted flowers. It was so full of character, with the pineapple finals and the curved arches, what a find!  I found all of her furniture at either yard sales or flea markets.  We still need to do a few more things to the room, such as get rid of the dark blue carpet.  I need to get some more crystal purple knobs.  When my daughter saw her room for the first time she jumped up and down and gave me the biggest hug:)

Peir 1 bargains

I went to Peir 1 yesterday. Found some really good bargains. If you need Christmas ornaments they have plenty @ 75% off. I found a neat pillow with an asian theme not sure where I'm going to put it. I want to buy everything in that store. I love going shopping by myself no children, just me in my own world of dreaming and getting ideas on how I can decorate my house. I cherish those moments.

I'm finally back ready for a new year. I have so many things i would like to accomplish this year. I have my first project that i would like to start. On my way to work i found the coolest retro chairs just sitting there waiting for me to pick them up. I was already late for work but that didn't matter. I put the car in reverse and quickly jumped out and rescued them. I was glad they fit in my CRV. I will show you the before and hopefully this weekend I will be able to work on them and then show you can see the after in the next week.
