Flowers

Check out these beautiful flowers in my garden.  I have no idea the names of some of them.  I will need to get my flower book out and do some research.  We put up the gazebo.  We've been busy doing alot of yard work.  My yard looks like it has more weeds than grass.  I put some weed and feed down.  My whole yard will be dead after this treatment.  Any suggestions for a weed free lawn?  Went for a bike ride with the family at our local rail trail. I hope you had a great weekend!

Owls

This is such an adorable ceramic owl sitting on my moms kitchen shelf.
I totally love owls!

Check out this cute gummy owl.

I found this cute owl material at my local Joann Fabrics.

Here is my little girl modeling the outfit her aunty made her.
This outfit is the cutest!  but there's even a cuter outfit in the works.
Can't wait till little girl models this one!

The little model! She told everyone at her friends birthday party her Aunty made her outfit!

Having fun looking at their tattoos. Two peas in a pod!

It is such a beautiful day for a party.

Yellow and White

I have always loved yellow and white.  My wedding was yellow and white with white daisies.  Yellow is such a cheery color.  I love collecting all things yellow and white.
 Hope this brightens your day!

The Handmade Dress

My sister finished my daughters dress. It turned out so nice.  She is a such perfectionist when it comes to sewing.  Her stiches are so even and straight.  It looks so good!  I just ordered a pattern from Near Sea Naturals for a one-piece sundress.  My sister saw this pattern at Soule mamas blog, it was adorable! We are now working on the owl fabric top and shorts. I can't wait to show the finshed product.  Out of the extra material I want to make a little draw string bag.  I am so excited about making the one-piece sundress.  Heather Ross has some beautiful mermaid fabric that I want to use for the dress.

Planning a Mermaid Party

Yesterday I went to my local Economy Store with my list in hand looking for interesting things for my daughters mermaid birthday party.  While there I happened to find two glass seahorse containers that once held Avon's Skin so Soft.  I had to have them.  Oh the possibilities I could do with these.  I thought about filling them with lite blue M&M's, or blue water.  I also found a little white shell shaped candy plate.  Lastly, I found to white round tablecloths. I want to have a posh mermaid party not a cheesy Little Mermaid party. You no, the classy version of a mermaid party.  I have my little notebook started with all my ideas and drawings.  I could be a party planner, really!  I have three more weeks to get it together.  It was fun finding those few things at the thrift store, it made my day:)

Cute Avon bottles!

My finds from the Economy Store.

Check out this posh mermaid party!

Sophia Gardening

Gardening and Sewing Oh My!

I went to the fabric store and bought some fabric to make Sophia some summer dresses. I tried to pick out some material I thought she might like.  I found some really cute owl material at my local Joann fabrics.  I bought a simple pattern.  It was a sew easy.  HA HA :)  My sister who is an expert seamtress said it wasn't easy for her.  I watched as she sewed and hopefully I can replicate it on the next dress.  I planted some seeds with Sophia.  I planted Foxgloves, Cosmos, Money Plant, Cherry Tomatoes and last but not least Cilantro.  Sophia loves gardening! At preschool this week their theme was "All about Gardening."  She said she planted some seeds at school.  She is not afraid to get her hands dirty, pick up worms or touch any crawly things.
